Where you can (and can’t) rent on 30A
Street-legal carts on 30A are Low-Speed Vehicles: registered, insured, and legal on roads posted 35 mph or less, which covers Scenic Highway 30A itself. Florida law requires a valid driver’s license to operate one. Individual communities set their own rules on top of that, and this is where vacations go sideways. Check your rental home’s community before you book a cart:

Summer peak (late May through Labor Day) sits at the top of each range, and some operators switch to week-only rentals in peak season. Watch for the quiet costs: delivery fees on short rentals (free delivery usually starts at 4+ days), deposits, and damage waivers. A week in June for a 6-seater lands around $1,000 all-in, which still beats a week of beach parking stress.
